The notification sought to transfer 360 major tax set-ups from RTO Peshawar to Islamabad—an action argued to be unconstitutional and harmful to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economic interests.

The Peshawar High Court accepted the arguments and declared the FBR notification null and void, restoring provincial tax authority and reinforcing constitutional protections for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
