Advocate Qazi Ghulam Dastgir, Supreme Court Advocate and CEO & Founder of Value Court Advocate and Corporate Consultants, delivered a major legal breakthrough by representing petitioners against the Federal Board of Revenue’s controversial 5 August 2020 notification. The notification sought to transfer 360 major tax set-ups from RTO Peshawar to Islamabad—an action argued to be unconstitutional and harmful to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economic interests.
Through strong legal arguments, Advocate Dastgir highlighted that the move violated jurisdictional boundaries, undermined the NFC revenue structure, and posed serious risks to local businesses. The Peshawar High Court accepted the arguments and declared the FBR notification null and void, restoring provincial tax authority and reinforcing constitutional protections for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This ruling marks a significant legal and economic victory, with Advocate Qazi Ghulam Dastgir at the forefront of the case.
